The sun was out, the water was sparkling, and the energy was electric at the Transkei Primary School Championship Gala held on Wednesday, 25 March. It was a day of fierce competition, great sportsmanship, and, most importantly, lots of fun!
Students from all grades gathered at the poolside to showcase the hard work they’ve put into their swimming lessons this term. From the very first whistle, it was clear that our athletes came ready to give it their all.
Diving Into Action
The highlight of the day was undoubtedly the championship races. As seen in the photo above, our swimmers showed incredible focus and form right from the starting blocks. Whether it was the sprint of the freestyle or the endurance required for the breaststroke, every participant gave 100%.
"It wasn't just about winning medals; it was about seeing our students gain confidence in the water and cheer each other on," said one of the event organizers.
Beyond the Lanes
The spirit of Transkei Primary was on full display in the stands. Friends, teachers, and parents created a wall of sound, cheering for every swimmer until they touched the wall. We also want to extend a huge thank you to our sponsors and the staff who worked tirelessly behind the scenes—from timing the races to setting up the gazebos—to make this event a success.
Final Results & Congratulations
Congratulations to our individual age-group winners and to the winning house! We are incredibly proud of the discipline and courage shown by everyone who dove into the pool.
Well done, Transkei swimmers! Keep practicing, and we’ll see you back in the water soon.
