Transkei Primary School Ablution Project Handover to SGB: Expanding with Purpose
Transkei Primary School is pleased to announce the successful completion and handover of the newly constructed ablution facilities to the School Governing Body (SGB). This project forms part of a broader infrastructure plan to support the school’s growing enrolment and commitment to quality education.
The ablution facilities were designed by Imbono Architects and implemented through a collaborative effort between the SGB and the School Management Team (SMT). The initiative was self-driven by the school, using available resources to respond proactively to the significant increase in learner numbers.
As part of this expansion strategy, the school will introduce a fourth Grade 5 class in 2026, highlighting the increasing demand for placement at Transkei Primary School. The new ablution facilities are a critical part of this growth, ensuring that our learners have access to safe, hygienic, and dignified sanitation as the school population expands.
This project is not just about infrastructure—it is about serving more children in Mthatha and surrounding areas, and ensuring that every learner has the environment they need to thrive.
We thank Imbono Architects for their professional service, and we commend the SGB and SMT for their vision, planning, and dedication to the school community.
